BIO

I graduated in drama from the Paolo Grassi Academy in Milan and in storytelling from the Scuola Holden in Turin, I worked and lived abroad between Germany and France for eight years. At the moment I'm pursuing a master's degree in creative writing at the Vermont College of Fine Arts and I teach my subject in the province of Cuneo, where I also work as a journalist. I speak four languages fluently and am not afraid to use them.

What I love most about language is the plasticity of verbal matter, soft and ductile like a clay stick. Thoughts and ideas can be pressed like diamonds or cut like long garlands of paper, and a person's life can open and close in two words and a dot — who doesn't remember the Ei fu. of Manzoni? — or you can surround a single day with an entire novel.

Creative writing frees from the anxiety of originality because one discovers almost immediately that originality is within reach. We don't have to look for it, because we already have it: like a fingerprint, it's our trademark. We can amaze, convince or make people smile starting only from ourselves: what we know, what we feel. Our toolbox opens with the game and nothing is ever missing to play: what we have, coincidentally, is all we need.
